Apple Unveils New iPhone
The iPhone 3G S was revealed yesterday at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Franciscom and Apple claims it is “the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet,” boasting improved speed and performance.
According to Apple, the new iPhone has twice the processing power of the iPhone 3G, longer battery life, a 3-megapixel autofocus camera, video recording and hands-free voice control, along with cut, copy, and paste functions, multimedia messaging and spotlight search, and the digital keyboard will switch to landscape justification when the phone is held horizontally.
With one touch, the improved camera can adjust focus, exposure, color, and contrast, and edit and share video via email, messaging, or one-touch posting to Apple’s MobileMe or Youtube.
The hands-free voice control will allow the user to dial by saying the name or number or play music by artist, album, or playlist. Also, the new software includes a “Find My iPhone” feature that works with MobileMe and built-in GPS to locate a lost iPhone on a map, send a message that will appear on the screen or play a sound to help you find it, even if it’s set to silent. If the user can’t find it after all that, there is a Remote Wipe feature to erase all data from it.
The new iPhone will be available June 19.
