McAfee Joins Cyber Education Effort

As part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, McAfee, Inc. has outlined its support for the program sponsored by the National Cyber Security Alliance.

To demonstrate its support for the education initiative, McAfee plans to conduct a number of educational programs to increase awareness about having good cyber “hygiene.”

The educational effort includes a documentary, participating in a museum exhibit and reaching out to children. The documentary, titled “H*Commerce: The Business of Hacking You,” examines the techniques used by cyber criminals, and highlights a woman that lost more than $400,000 in an elaborate scam.

McAfee will also send employees to discuss good cyber-safety practices with children in schools in California, Oregon, Texas and Minnesota. The company also participated in the launch of the “Weapons of Mass Disruption” exhibit at the International Spy Museum.
