Sweden Hit by DDoS Attacks

Approximately 40 web pages in Sweden were subjected to distributed denial of service attacks late last week.

A number of media websites were attacked along with a police website.

The attacks brought down the majority of the websites for a few hours. Each of the media companies that were affected rent server space from the same Swedish provider.

Investigators have not been able to attribute the attack to any specific group. The torrent used in the attacks were traced to Asia, but no more specific information has been uncovered. Investigators claim the attacks are likely connected and were well planned and executed.
