Scientists Claim to Have Found Way to End Cyber Attacks
Scientists, who conducted research that was published by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bristol, have claimed that they found a way to make cyber attacks “computationally impossible.” The scientists will present their research at the ASIACRYPT 2009 conference that will be held in Japan this week.
At the conference, the researchers will demonstrate how, by using encryption, they can prevent distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks while providing two-factor authentication. Also, another paper will demonstrate the use of cryptography to apply to web browsers and the final paper will discuss how to transfer information between databases in an encrypted fashion.
If the research can be functionally implemented, this will go a long way in better securing networks and systems against cyber attacks. However, the majority of cyber attacks are the result of human action or inaction, which can still only be rectified through increased educational and awareness campaigns.
