French Accuse Cyclist of Hacking Anti-Doping Lab

Authorities in France have issued an arrest warrant for cyclist Floyd Landis amid accusations that he hacked into the computer networks of the anti-doping lab.He is accused of hacking into the Chatenay-Malabry laboratory computer systems in an effort to discredit them.

In 2006, Landis was stripped of the Tour de France title after he tested positive for high levels of testosterone, strongly suggesting the use of performance enhancing drugs. Landis denies both the doping and hacking allegations and claims that he did not receive any legal notice from the French either.

In an interview with the LA Times, Landis said “It appears to be another case of fabricated evidence by a French lab who is still upset a United States citizen believed he should have the right to face his accusers and defend himself.”

A spokeswoman for the French court said that the warrant is only for France and thus does not include extradition requests.
