Cyber Expert Jim Lewis to Speak in DC Area

Jim Lewis

Jim Lewis, director and senior fellow, Technology and Public Policy Program with the Center for Security and International Studies, is widely regarded as one of the premier experts on cybersecurity issues. He headed the CSIS Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency and has testified before Congress.

On March 25th, Lewis will be speaking at an event hosted by the Potomac Officers Club, a D.C. area non-profit.

Lewis recently spoke at the 2010 Government Solutions Forum hosted by CISCO, where he discussed the need for the U.S. to rethink its strategy towards cyberspace.

“We’ve had market failure when it comes to cybersecurity,” Lewis said. “Security doesn’t come out of voluntary actions and market forces.”

“Private action cannot solve the cybersecurity problem by itself,” he said.
