You will be responsible for leading a team of Information Technology Specialists who perform work that involves a wide range of information technology (IT) management activities that typically extend and apply to an entire organization or major components of an organization. These duties can include strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, workforce planning, policy and standards development, resource management, knowledge management, architecture, and infrastructure planning and management.
Specifically, you will communicate the office s strategic plan, mission, vision and values to the team; make assignments with deadlines and time frames for completion; coach the employees in problem solving methods and techniques; balance the workload; train the employees in team building; monitor and report on the progress of work; prepare work reports; represent the team in dealings with management; approve emergency leave; provide input on employee performance evaluations; and resolve simple, informal complaints. When not serving in a lead capacity, you will serve as a technical authority in leading the development of an enterprise IT modernization plan, working with other departments to establish priorities for IT investments, building business cases, demonstrating the total cost of IT investment, and establishing IT metrics and associated performance measurement tools…
