To Shore Up Cyber Defense, USAF CENTCOM Looks to L-3 Communications
L-3 Communications’ STRATIS division was awarded a contract worth a potential $152 million to provide cyber operations and IT support to the U.S. Air Force’s Central Command. Under the contract, L-3 will be responsible for providing cyber specialists who will monitor, manage and defend CENTCOM systems from cyber attacks.
The contract runs for the next five years and is a fixed price contract. In addition, L-3 will provide help desk support, network support, project management, web development, information assurance, logistics support, command and control services and configuration management.
“L-3 is proud to continue providing cyber support and services to USAFCENT’s Network Operations and Security Center,” said Les Rose, president of L-3 STRATIS. “We look forward to maintaining the operational stability and security of their sophisticated infrastructure and will continue to help ensure their systems remain current and at the highest operational status to meet the demands of their ever-evolving operational needs.”
