Dr. José Muñoz Appointed as CTO of NSF’s Cyber Office
The National Science Foundation’s Office of Cyberinfrastructure has announced the appointment of Dr. José Muñoz as chief technology officer effective June 1, 2010.
Muñoz, who has been serving as acting director of OCI, will focus on relations with external communities on IT and cyber infrastructure, enhance the outreach activities of NSF units involved with research on and development of IT, and serve as a resource in bringing together research and deployment.
“We want to thank Dr. Muñoz for the leadership and direction he provided to the Office of Cyberinfrastructure,” OCI said in an announcement. “We are especially grateful to him for serving as acting head, OCI, since August 2009.”
Acting Deputy Director of OCI Alan Blatecky has agreed to serve as acting head until a replacement has been found.
