Air Force Association to Honor Cyber Institute, SAIC, Northrop Grumman for CyberPatriot Roles
The University of Texas at San Antonio, SAIC (NYSE: SAI) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) have received awards from the Air Force Association for their roles in the recent CyberPatriot competition, which is the largest cyber program for high school students in the country.
UTSA’s Institute for Cyber Security worked with Northrop Grumman and SAIC to create the CyberPatriot competition. The university and two contractors will receive the Hoyt S. Vandenberg Award from the Air Force Association at the Air & Space Conference in National Harbor, Md., on Sept. 14.
SAIC will be honored for providing the online platform used in the competition, UTSA will be honored for the academic aspect and Northrop Grumman for supporting the growth of the competition throughout schools across the country.
“We are proud of our entire CyberPatriot team, and appreciate their support of CyberPatriot and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education,” said Joe Sutter, Chairman of the Board for AFA. “The Hoyt S. Vandenberg Award represents AFA’s strong commitment to education, and this year’s award recognizes team members that have demonstrated they share this vision for this important cyber education initiative.”
