Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Examples): Performs duties as a software engineer and technology integrator assigned to the Cyber Threat Analysis Center (CTAC) of the 1st Information Operations Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Works directly with a team of cyber intelligence analysts to design, develop and maintain mission critical applications based on custom software and COTS technology. Performs all aspects of the software development life cycle, including requirements specification, prototyping, coding, testing, integration, documentation, and maintenance. Monitors and maintains existing systems, fixing defects and making recommendations for improved performance and functionality. Provides management and staff with development plans, demonstrations, and training for new software. Researches new technologies and tools that can be used within the team’s mission. Supports intelligence analysts in finding new and innovative technical solutions to analytical challenges. Desired Experience and Skills: * Experience with object oriented programming, design patterns, and languages (Java, C#) * Experience working directly with users to help define requirements and develop user interfaces * Experience presenting technical information and ideas to management and users in a non-technical way * Experience in web development to include ASP.NET, SharePoint, AJAX, JavaScript * Experience with database modeling and database management systems (MS Access / SQL Server / Oracle) * Script writing (Perl/Python) for the UNIX environments * Experience in network intrusion detection, network security management, and/or network administration * Demonstrable ability to quickly analyze problems and develop and implement effective solutions with minimal guidance or oversight * Knowledgeable in: TCP/IP, Computer Network Defense, Computer Emergency/Incident Response Team (CERT/CIRT) activities, Network Design, DoD Network Architecture, Hardware/Software Troubleshooting, Firewalls, DNS, Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP Server and Workstation Typically the candidate will have 5 years of experience with a degree and 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Current CISSP, CISA, or Security+ certification preferred. TS/SCI Security Clearance Required. Security Clearance Required.
