The government of Singapore has announced a new accreditation program for individuals looking to work in cybersecurity. The Qualified Information Security Professional (Qisp) training program is designed to increase the “professional proficiency and build a critical pool of competent personnel in Singapore to handle, contain and manage cyber security threats,” according to the Association of Information Security Professionals.

The AISP, in collaboration with the government and private sector firms working in cybersecurity, will administer the program. The first course will begin in September at the National University of Singapore’s Institute of Systems Science. Planned topics include cryptography, auditing information security systems and cybersecurity laws and regulations in Singapore.
