Indian Law Students to Receive Cyber Training
Law students in India are being given the opportunity to include cyber training within their curriculum, according to The Times of India. Students attending the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University will have the chance to participate in an internship with the Cyber Appellate Tribunal (CAT) located in New Delhi.
Chairman of the CAT, Justice Rajesh Tandon, said students could begin a month-long internship in the upcoming academic year.
“They can actively participate in the proceedings of the CAT and witness how an appellate authority functions,” he said. “This will give them an insight into cyber-related crime and law.”
The decision to allow students the opportunity to participate in internships with the organization is a result of a direct request made by the vice chancellor of the university, professor V Vijayakumar.
Speaking at the inauguration of a computer lab at the school, Tandon said he was recently involved in a review of cyber crime in India.
“We found that more bank frauds were pending before the cyber crime wing here,” he said.
