The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has opted to to join the Security Cooperation Programme (SCP) of Microsoft Gulf in an effort to promote information and network security.

aeCERT, an initiative of TRA, has signed the agreement with the Microsoft Gulf to join the SCP. The agreement provides an exchange of information between Microsoft and TRA. This information will include security updates, known vulnerabilities, security incident metrics and Microsoft’s approach to security.

“The SCP is aligned with our goal to build a secure and safe cyber culture in the UAE,” said Mohammed Al Nasser Al Ghanim, director of TRA and aeCERT. “The SCP will allow us to better address and raise awareness about cyber security for individuals and businesses in the emirate.”

“The SCP demonstrates the comprehensive Microsoft approach in providing technology and
services that help address threats to national security, economic strength and public safety more efficiently and effectively for governments in the region. We commend aeCERT initiatives and will continue to support their efforts through
the SCP programme,” said Charbel Fakhoury, regional general manager of Microsoft Gulf.
