North Korea Accuses South of Hacking into Website
North Korea is accusing South Korean web users of hacking into one of its websites, calling the behavior a provocation aimed at undermining its national dignity, according to The Associated Press.
The North’s state-run Uriminzokkiri website said South Korean Internet users recently deleted articles on the site and posted messages slandering the North’s dignity, AP reported.
One of the messages read: “They should stop acting recklessly and think carefully about a grave consequence that could be caused by their mean acts,” according to The Wall Street Journal.
Anti-North Korea articles and pictures were reportedly posted on the site over the weekend, with one image depicting Kim Jong-il and his son Kim Jong-un kneeling down before what seems to be a Chinese emperor, AP said.
The New New Internet reported recently DC Inside, a South Korean imageboard, claimed responsibility for hacking the North’s official Twitter and YouTube accounts.
