Mail-order companies in Germany have a new security solutions provider to select. CIBER announced today it received preferred business partner status from the German E-commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association.
“The status of preferred business partner is only granted to companies enjoying full confidence within our industry sector, and which have already proved their reliability and quality,” said Thomas Lipke, president of BVH.
Lipke cited CIBER’s proficiency in SAP environment built to handle multichannel retailing as one of the association’s deciding factor in the award.
The booming e-commerce marketplace relies heavily on solutions that package logistics with material management.
“Mail-order companies typically have huge amounts of business data and need user-friendly and highly automated real-time applications, as well as cross-linked process chains,” said Andreas Mecheels, head of CIBER’s retail projects.
CIBER believes its SAP software fits the e-commerce bill. The company said its solution is based on best practices developed for multichannel retailers, reduces times and streamlines the process.
BVH association members make up about 75 percent of the 30 billion euro e-commerce market. Association members include catalogs, eBay sellers, online drugstores and teleshopping companies.
