Fake Tweets Announce bin Laden Live and Kickin’
If you happen to spend some time on Twitter — outside of work hours, of course — you might have seen tweets announcing news from CNN “conforming” that former terrorist leader Osama bin Laden is alive. Whatever you do, do not click on those URLs, warns Internet security firm Websense, as it is just another way for cyber crooks to spread their malicious code.
These tweets are being posted by users at the rate of several hundred tweets per second, Websense said. Instead of directing users to a real CNN story, the tweets lead to a phishing page.

Users who end up on the phishing page and type in their information are then taken to a YouTube video related to the topic of the scam, a CNN video discussing the news “‘Osama is alive’ say protestors,” Websense said.
