Boeing Exec Admits Firm Being under ‘Continuous’ Attack by Hackers
Following last week’s media reports that Google, Lockheed Martin, L-3 and Northrop Grumman had recently been targeted by hackers, aerospace giant Boeing has now admitted to being under “continuous” cyber attack, although it has been spared from database breaches, a senior executive said.
“We, as are other global enterprises, are under a continuous state of cyber attack and cyber probing,” Dennis Muilenburg, chief executive of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, said last week at a media briefing in Singapore, according to AFP.
The reality of global business today is that cyber attacks are part of business, something Boeing has prepared for, Muilenburg said. He declined to mention how often the attacks occurred but said Boeing’s investment to protect its systems from hackers has paid off.
The Boeing exec added that the company’s defense capabilities are “very effective, and give us confidence and our enterprise is secure because of that investment.”
