IMF: No Financial Systems Compromised in Breach
Ten days after the International Monetary Fund announced it had been the victim of a “very major breach,” the organization has determined there is no evidence that indicates its financial systems were compromised, Dow Jones reports.
“We have no evidence that information held in our emails, our financial systems or fund document management systems have been compromised,” IMF spokesman David Hawley told a news briefing held earlier today.
Asked if the fund knew whether the cyber attacks were conducted by an individual hacker, a collective or agents of a state, Hawley replied, “the source is a matter for investigation.”
