Profile: James ‘Jim’ L. Zarnick of Deloitte

As national director of information technology for Deloitte’s Federal Practice, Jim Zarnick is responsible for the direction and execution of the work the Deloitte IT organization performs in support of the federal practice.

When Deloitte acquired BearingPoint in 2009, Zarnick was named director of international operations for Deloitte Consulting LLP. In April 2010, he transferred to Deloitte’s federal finance team where he retained his international assistance role while adding Deloitte’s federal billing, earned value and compliance teams to his oversight portfolio.

Zarnick joined KPMG in 1998, three years before the firm spun off BearingPoint. For nine years, he performed custom system development for federal clients, including the Senate and the State Department. In 2007, he was named BearingPoint’s director of international operations and became responsible for the systems, policies and procedures used to support accounting, payroll, banking, and other operational activities of the international practice.

Prior to KPMG, Zarnick spent 17 years at Eastman Kodak in multiple engineering and business leadership roles. His areas of responsibility included document management systems and providing equipment, and services to IT organizations, including banking, insurance and government.

Zarnick holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Pennsylvania State University.
