Raytheon Network Centric Systems Increases Public Safety Market Opportunity

Raytheon’s Network Centric Systems has combined its existing security solutions and civil communications business to create a new product line and focusing on public safety market opportunities.

According to Raytheon, security and transportation systems will facilitate a strengthened presence in public safety markets through cross-selling capabilities to commercial and government customers enabling the development of network technologies and products to meet changing market needs.

STS focuses on security solutions emphasizing critical infrastructure protection including ports, airports and border protection and interoperable communication networks including equipment allowing first responders to communicate. Air traffic management business will also be a part of STS.

“We see increased opportunities to serve the public safety market more effectively through this new alignment,” said Network Centric Systems President Daniel Crowley.

“The change further reinforces our commitment to being a leader in public safety,” he said. “We have discriminating capabilities in sensing, communications, and command and control — plus the system integration skills to bring these capabilities together in a wide array of applications.”
