Oracle Breaking Records Launching its SPARC T4 Server and SuperCluster

Oracle has announced its new SPARC T4 server line offering users built-in virtualization, security and dynamic threads which has resulted in nine world record benchmarks.

SPARC T4 also offers on-chip cryptographic acceleration enabling organizations to keep their data safe with up to 44 percent faster secure queries. Oracle’s end-to-end SPARC T4-4-based solution has a 20 percent performance advantage per socket across the entire configuration.

Oracle’s SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 was unveiled as well, based on SPARC T4 servers. The SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 is a complete application-to-disk solution meant to consolidate broad spectrum of mission-critical enterprise application. It combines Oracle’s SPARC T4-4 server running Oracle Solaris with Oracle Exadata storage cells.

“Oracle is changing the dynamics of the datacenter by combining the industry’s best technology – the SPARC T4 processor, Oracle Solaris 11, Oracle Exadata storage, and the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud software – into a versatile, secure, general purpose engineered system,” said John Fowler, executive vice president, Systems, Oracle. “Oracle’s SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 is an ideal platform for application and server consolidation that demonstrates how engineered systems can deliver huge performance at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions.”
