Citrix Systems revealed new additions to its leading Citrix NetScaler MPX and SDX  data center product lines Tuesday morning.

The updated NetScaler SDX system integrates virtualization directly into the network fabric, supporting up to 40 independent NetScaler instances for large-scale consolidation projects.

“Citrix innovation is leading the migration to the Cloud Era,” said Sunil Potti, Vice President and General Manager of Cloud Networking for Citrix. “Our ability to consolidate 40 virtual appliances into one network form factor is an amazing advancement for customers implementing private or public clouds.”

Citrix was already known for the speed of its cloud-based technology when offloading application and database servers. The company said its NetScaler now has the fastest 2048-bit SSL performance, two times faster than any leading competitor.

EMA Managing Research Director Jim Frey commented that “This new set of NetScaler capabilities represents an aggressive move to leverage both virtualization and hardware advances to elevate the state of the art in Application Delivery Controllers.”
