IBM Offering Migration System to Oracle Clients

IBM is reaching out to Oracle software and hardware customers in order to ease their restrictive licensing and technology costs.

Clients who choose to switch over from Oracle to the new IBM migration system can save up to 50 percent over a three to five year period, according to IBM.

Those companies currently running application server software on Sun, HP Itanium, or previous generation POWER servers are eligible for the IBM savings package. IBM is calling the program ‘Stop, Think and Save.’

In addition to the savings, IBM also includes an elaborate migration training plan designed by the company’s technologists and also new IBM software licensing and support.

IBM posted a record 847 competitive displacements in the second quarter for servers and storage systems.
