Neustar Brings In Symantec Data Center CTO to Head Neustar Labs

Neustar has hired a former Symantec executive, Joe Pasqua, to head its Lab’s efforts to expand portfolio and service offerings. Pasqua will be the vice president for Neustar Labs, a newly created position, and manage research and development.

Pasqua headed Symantec‘s data center business as chief technology officer and also led the company’s global research.

In response to his appointment, Pasqua described Neustar as having a, ”reputation for being trusted and neutral, secure and reliable, and above all tested.” He sees this as “an ideal organization to join at this exciting moment,” he said in the release.  

Mark Bregman, Neustar’s senior vice president and chief technology officer, described Neustar as having a “strong track record creating innovative addressing, routing and authentication services for networks.”

The team Pasqua is joining has introduced new services of recent, such as its TextEverywhere, Ultraviolet and NeuSentry, which is a service capable of detecting cyber breaches. 

Pasqua has a strong technology background, working at various firms like Symantec and Oracle, with more than 10 issued patents and still patents pending. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics, earned from  California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
