Health Center to Use NIST Framework to Push Cyber Education Programs

A not-for-profit health center established by a 2003 executive order from President George W. Bush is launching an initiative to improve cybersecurity education and protect U.S. health information infrastructure.

Modernhealthcare.com reports the National Health Information Sharing & Analysis Center will build off of the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s cybersecurity workforce framework and support programs intended to build a strong domestic cybersecurity workforce.

Bush’s order established 18 of the centers, each of which focuses on a particular domestic infrastructure that is dependent on technology.

The centers monitor, gather, analyze and disseminate physical and cybersecurity threat and vulnerability information around the clock, according to their website.
