Exelis Reports Successful F-16 Electronic Warfare System Install
ITT Exelis installed and tested a pod-mounted, self-defense electronic warfare system on F-16 aircraft operated by an international customer according to a company announcement.
The Airborne Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System, or AIDEWS, was tested against a wide variety of threats according to the company.
“This most recent exercise continues AIDEWS’ long track record of delivery and performance success,” said Rich Sorelle, vice president and general manager of Exelis’ integrated electronic warfare systems business area. “Since AIDEWS is based on modular, scalable EW technology and has a large installed base, allied forces will have lower maintenance and upgrade costs.
