Hughes Network Systems has been awarded a contract to provide airborne and maritime tactical communications solutions for an international partner, Hughes announced Tuesday.

Hughes will provide its HX System, which the company says provides full Internet Protocol functionality and enhanced security standards to meet the unique requirements of ISR applications.

“Our powerful and field proven HX System is ideal for ISR applications, delivering bandwidth efficient solutions to help reduce costs while also providing the most advanced communications-on-the-move technologies available to military and government customers,” said Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of Hughes’ defense and intelligence systems division.
