GSA, DISA Award $900M SATCOM Tech Contract

The General Services Administration and the Defense Information Systems Agency awarded a potential $900 million contract to provide commercial satellite communications technologies, DISA announced Friday.
The agencies awarded the Custom Satellite Communications Solutions-Small Business contract to four small businesses under the Future Commercial Satellite Communications Services Acquisition program.
GSA and DISA formed the program to provide the government with a single point of access for purchase and delivery of services.
Agencies acquire SATCOM technology through the program to support distant learning and to provide remote access to global government networks.
Contract awardees will integrate, operate and maintain SATCOM systems and provide:
- satellite bandwidth
- teleport access
- network management
- equipment
- engineering support
This contract is the first of two indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts, which have a combined three base years and two one-year options.
GSA and DISA plan to award companion contracts for large scale end-to-end solutions later this quarter.
