SAIC Inc. and Utah-based Lingotek have developed a new language translation solution for large enterprise customers.
SAIC said the companies unveiled the solution during the Association of Language Companies 2012 conference in New Orleans on May 16.
The new technology will combine SAIC’s Omnifluent Translate hybrid machine translator with Lingotek’s Collaborative Translation Platform.
Omnifluent Translate uses statistical machine translation and rule-based machine translation.
The solution will be available in the cloud as software-as-a-service and Lingotek CEO Rob Vandenberg said it will be priced through a per-word model.
SAIC is also working to develop linguistics software and software-as-a-service for a commercial iPhone application.
