GCE Big Data Cloud Supports USASpending Site

GCE announced Monday its big data and analytics cloud service will support the General Services Administration’s website for tracking federal spending, the company announced Monday.

USASpending.gov was established as an online depository for federal spending information including grants, contracts, direct loans, and payments.

The Reston, Va.-based company helped GSA relaunch the website in April with the Hadoop-based big data and analytics cloud.

In January, the agency announced that it was the first of 15 agencies to move its email to the cloud.

Unisys held a contract to move 17,000 employee and contractor email addresses, content and calendar data to the cloud platform.
