Hughes announced Monday the launch of its Emergency Services network.
The Germantown Md.-based firm said its emergency communications system offers network restoal and post-event response services while improving broadband internet connectivity.
Mike Cook, senior vice president at Hughes said “satellite broadband service ensures that organizations can respond to the disaster and maintain day-to-day operations like sending emails, processing orders, sharing information and checking inventory.”
The satellite communications provider said the launch correlates with the beginning of hurricane season and hopes to assist both government and private sector entities in case of an emergency.
