Boeing, Partner Add Cockpit Subassembly To Navy Growler

Boeing has delivered the first Growler electronic attack aircraft with cockpit subassembly to the U.S. Navy on May 3, the company announced Wednesday.

Bangalore, India-based firm Bharat Electronics Limited produced the subassembly, which provides floodlighting with the EA-18G Growler’s night vision imaging system.

BEL’s performance on both the Growler and Super Hornet has led to Boeing renewing contract options for another year.

This partnership serves as an example of how Indian companies are becoming a part of the global supply chain, said Dennis Swanson, vice president of international business development for Boeing’s defense, space and security business in India.

Boeing is also developing a spacecraft to be used by NASA to taxi astronauts to and from the International Space Station and recently completed a software preliminary design review for the spacecraft.
