IBM Deploys New Big Data Solutions Line

IBM announced Monday it has released a new line of Big Data storage and technical computing systems.

Part of its Smarter Computing effort, the new IBM systems were designed to target enterprise clients in the services and financing industry.

The new line of IBM products include:

  • Systems Storage DS3500
  • Tape System Library Manager
  • Linera Tape File System Storage Manager
  • Enhanced Tivoli Storage Productivity Center suit

IBM added its Big Data systems can compress information up to 80 percent more than traditional systems.

In March the company also teamed with Rutgers University to open a new Big Data facility to support its Smarter Computing project.
