A Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman joint venture will produce a radar electronic unit and a data link assembly for unmanned aerial vehicles for the Army.

Longbow will also support other modifications for UAVs under a $6,986,376 contract modification, the Defense Department announced Wednesday.

Work under the firm-fixed-price contract will occur in Orlando, Fla. and the Pentagon expects work finish by August 31, 2014.

The joint venture is also producing fire control systems for Apache helicopters under a potential $181 million contract.

Taiwan plans to purchase 15 of the systems through a foreign military sales agreement.
