AT&T is making a live language interpretation service available to federal agencies and healthcare providers, the company announced Monday.
The company partnered with Language Live Services for the On Demand Interpreter service, which has professionally-trained interpreters available in more than 170 languages.
Users will speak to one another through the interpreters, who are available at a moment’s notice, said Chris Hill, a vice president for advanced mobility solutions.
By pushing star-4, users are directed to a voice recognition service and asked to speak the name of the language they need.
Raytheon BBN is partnering with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop language translation technologies.
