Report: Keith Alexander Supports Cloud-Based Info Sharing

Gen. Keith Alexander

Army Gen. Keith Alexander, National Security Agency director, believes the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Pilot Program should migrate to cloud computing, Nextgov reports.

According to Aliya Sternstein’s report, retired military officials also support information sharing in a cloud-based environment.

Internet service providers joined the program in May because the Pentagon created a threat-sharing and collaboration system and authenticated an online application process, according to Nextgov.

The Defense Information Systems Agency will be the lead agency responsible for military data consolidation services, Sternstein reported.

Gen. Harry Raduege, former DISA director, said that the cloud’s flexibility allows sorting based on a user’s authorization level, Nextgov reports.
