NASA is launching a new technology transfer portal for U.S. businesses and the public to acquire technology from the agency, NASA announced Wednesday.
The agency said research and development will transfer back into the U.S. economy through licenses, patents and intellectual property agreements.
NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said one of the agency’s priorities is to streamline its technology transfer procedures, support additional government-industry collaboration and encourage the commercialization of new technologies.
The website offers a searchable database of NASA’s patents and an updated historical report on NASA’s technology transfer program.
In conjunction, it also provides access to NASA’s distinctive intellectual property assets.
