Boeing Puts Silent Eagle Weapons Bay In Wind Tunnel

Boeing recently completed wind tunnel tests of an aircraft weapons bay in St. Louis, the company announced Monday.
Tests authenticated the aerodynamic design of the Silent Eagle’s conformal weapons bay, the company said.
Scale models produced readings regarding the impact of different air speeds and flight angles.
They also evaluated the developments applied to the original bay design and certified the team’s modeling inquiry.
Future tests will concentrate on the aerodynamic impacts of various weapon loads and the opening and closing of lower and upper bay doors.
Silent Eagle is Boeing’s fighter jet proposal to South Korea as the country is looking to replace its F-4 Phantom aircraft, which the U.S. military officially retired in 1996.
Boeing is collaborating with the Korea Aerospace Industries for aircraft design, development and manufacturing.
