General Atomics-Aeronautical Systems will update data link configurations on Predator ground control stations, the Defense Department announced Tuesday.

New Predator Primary Data Link configurations will be a part of the U.S. Air Force’s MD-1A/B ground control station retrofit kits.

The company will perform work at its Poway, Calif. facility through December 2014.

GA-ASI also is upgrading digital video systems on the Predator drone itself, including an infrared sensor, TV cameras, a laser designator and an illuminator.
