Booz Allen Hamilton vice president Michael Isman said that bring-your-own-device guidelines should work with existing policies on social media, teleworking, and cloud computing, Federal News Radio reports.
In an interview with Tom Temin and Emily Koop on The Federal Drive, Isman said that agencies should think through how their employees use their devices.
With the Office of Management and Budget releasing a new BYOD guideline next week, Isman said that the guideline should educate employees on what they can do with their devices.
Isman added that agencies should think of BYOD as a “part of a broader digital ecosystem” and must be related to that agency’s mobile strategies.
Finally, Isman said, the BYOD guideline should prioritize what data can be shared and what must be protected.
