The General Services Administration will hold a Twitter chat Tuesday to seek feedback on its idea of using brokers to acquire cloud computing services, Federal Computer Week reports.
Matthew Hardy reports Kevin Youel Page, GSA’s acting assistant commissioner for integrated technology services, said in a blog post the agency has received numerous responses to a request for information on the topic.
The agency also heard many ideas from vendors during a recent industry day, Page said, according to the report.
Cloud brokers would manage performance and delivery of cloud services and negotiate relationships between providers and consumers, according to Hardy.
GSA initially issued the cloud broker RFI in July but the number of responses and interest in the idea led the agency to extend the deadline for responses to Sept. 7 from Aug. 17.
