Army, Lockheed Conduct Third Demo of PAC-3 Missile Interceptor Upgrade; Richard McDaniel Comments

The US Army Test and Evaluation Command and Lockheed Martin’s PAC-3 Missile destroyed a tactical ballistic missile target at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.

According to a company release, Lockheed’s Dallas facility is the main contracting activity for the missile upgrade of the Patriot air defense system.

Richard McDaniel, vice president of PAC-3 Missile programs in Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control business, reported the August 29 test was the third consecutive PAC-3 missile flight test this year.

During the test, two PAC-3 missiles were able to destroy two Patriot-As-A-Target missiles and one MQM-107 drone.

Lockheed Martin said that three more PAC-3 missile tests will be conducted this year, including a Missile Segment Enhancement capability test
