ITT Exelis announced that it completed six rounds of testing for its Advanced Defensive Electronic Warfare System on September 11.
Exelis said the demonstration concluded a year’s worth of planning and coordination between the U.S. and Chilean Air Forces.
Stuart Altman, Exelis Electronic Systems business area lead for AIDEWS said that electronic warfare technology is always changing and these tests show that Exelis is willing and able to provide American allies with the latest technology for their military’s.
During the six missions conducted between July 4 and 18, Chilean Air Force pilots flew six missions using F-16 Block 50 aircrafts from the Los Condores Air Base in Chile.
Exelis said the test “demonstrated the performance of AIDEWS Block 5.2 against multiple airborne fire control radars with overlapping operating frequencies.”
