Northrop Releases Mobile App for Real-time Aircraft, Fleet Readiness; Kelly Whalen Comments

Ready Blue

Northrop Grumman Corporation released the Ready Blue Mobile App on September 17.

Ready Blue is a mobile app which provides real-time analysis of aircraft readiness, fleet readiness, and mission capability rates to flight line personnel, military leaders and depot operations staff.

Kelly Whalen, Northrop Grumman Technical Services sector vice president of strategy, business development and innovation, said they created ReadyBlue to improve fleet readiness and promote economical maintenance using real-time flight assessment.

Whalen added that the technology allows maintainers to access comprehensive technical data and supply chain tracking which helps resolve aircraft concerns faster.

Ron Blickley, director, fleet modernization, Northrop Grumman Technical Services, also shared that ReadyBlue’s video conferencing capabilities through Apple’s Facetime will allow maintainers to communicate with field service representatives at any location around the globe.

This feature can be used for immediate assistance in resolving mechanical or supply chain issues, Moreover, the new application also allows instant sharing of aircraft maintenance history, Blickley further explained. 

ReadyBlue uses the Integrated Data Environment (IDE) toolset which has the capacity to secure and consolidate enterprise databases for fast scheduling, task assignments, order placements, and technical manuals, said Blickley.

More importantly, ReadyBlue provides paperless fleet management to any logistics team in the world, he added.

Northrop Grumman created ReadyBlue in cooperation with Fairfax,Va.-based contractor 3 Pillar Global.
