Iran’s Revolutionary Guards unveiled a long-range drone Tuesday, that is capable of carrying bombs and missiles up to 1,240 miles, Reuters reports.
The locally-made Shahed 129 is reportedly capable of reaching Iran’s arch-foe, the Jewish state of Israel.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the Revolutionary Guard’s aerospace arm head, recently said that if Iran finds that Israel was definitely going to attack, they would launch a pre-emptive strike.
Reuters also said that unconfirmed reports suggested Iran has undergone several developments in its defense and engineering forces, including a new anti-aircraft system.
The news comes as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attends a meeting of the U.N. in New York, where he said Israel has no roots in the Middle East and will be “eliminated,” according to Reuters.
