Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said the US is losing the cyber espionage battle against China, Russia, and other countries, AOL Defense reports.
Rogers said in an Intelligence and National Security Alliance‘s conference that the country is “running out of time” on finding a way to protect its intellectual property online.
“China is investing hugely in this technology,” Rogers told Colin Clark of AOL.
He added, “The impact of that investment is felt not only in the economic sphere, important as that is. Cyber is now an integral of military planning and operations, as the Russians have demonstrated several times.”
Case in point, Colin Clark wrote, National Security Agency and Cyber Command chief, Gen. Keith Alexander said that China has stolen over $1 trillion worth of intellectual property.
Rogers told AOL Defense that he will not give up on his proposed cyber bill that calls for sharing cyber intelligence between the public and private sector.
