Lockheed to Provide Navy Submarine Imaging Engineering

Lockheed Martin will provide the U.S. Navy engineering services to help develop a submarine imaging system, according to a Defense Department release.

The company’s mission systems and sensors unit won a $12,276,792 modification to work on the AN/BVY-1 Integrated Submarine Imaging System.

According to the Pentagon, the system is designed to provide Navy submarines image management, indication, warning and visual search.

Work will occur through September 2013 and the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington is the contracting activity.
