Salient Federal Solutions Inc. has been awarded a subcontract to help the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) transition to IPv6, according to the company statement.
The company will provide technical services on a network-wide project, which will be implemented by prime contractor Chickasaw Advisory Service LLC.
“We are proud to be able to support DTIC in its mission to enable the ongoing, critical IT services of the DoD,” said Bill Parker, chief operating officer at Salient.
“We pride ourselves in providing the best, most effective, lowest-risk plans to our current and future customers,” he added.

Salient says DTIC is the largest central resource for DoD and government-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business related information available including 4 million documents with approximately 25,000 new documents added each year.
Salient’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence and software and systems engineering solutions business unit will help implement the transition project over 12 months in four stages.
Salient will also help complete DTIC’s accreditation process and train staff on next-generation networks.
