Science Applications International Corp. will provide the U.S. Air Force engineering and integration services for the branch’s GPS programs.
The Defense Department said the company won a $14,249,115 contract modification to continue work through March 7, 2013 at the Space and Missile Systems Center in El Segundo, Calif., home to Los Angeles Air Force Base.
According to a Nov. 15 FedBizOpps post, the Air Force is planning to award SAIC a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract extension to continue work for an additional six months through September 2013.
The Air Force said the company will produce and manage a GPS technical baseline for the center, develop and implement directives and standards, create new tools for forecasting issues facing the enterprise and develop performance metrics.
